Tomorrow night’s Indigo Girls show postponed

Iconic folk group the Indigo Girls will not perform at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium tomorrow evening. That show has been postponed, according to the Indigo Girls’ Web site and Sherman Bass, executive director of the Asheville Civic Center.

The Web site says the show has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts. The new date should be announced tomorrow, Bass said.

About 600 tickets for the Wednesday show had been sold, according to the Civic Center box office. The Thomas Wolfe seats 2,431.

  1. Only 600 tickets? What’s up with that? They packed The Orange Peel the last time they were there, and their show at the baseball stadium was pretty full, too.

  2. Rebecca Sulock

I wondered that myself. They’ve always had a good fan base in Asheville. Recession?

  3. Bjorn

Perhaps the Indigo Girls could be an opening act for Seal, Metallica, or Neko Case. Why is it so difficult to get headliners booked in Asheville?
