Videos from Saturday at Bele Chere

Busking at Bele Chere takes on a whole different feel than the regular downtown busking scene. There’s not much time for breaks when you’ve got such big crowds watching. And since the buskers get permitted for the fest, and have to stay in their space, they’ve got to make the most of their time. Here, the old-time group the Zing Kings performs at the corner of College Street and Lexington Avenue.

A little farther down Lexington, local Zydeco dancers were leading a demonstration. The Cajun dance style has a pretty good local following.

Over on Biltmore Avenue, two tap dancers entertained the passersby with their choreographed routine. To dance that exuberantly in the hot heat of the day must’ve taken a lot of endurance.

And there was a lovely percussion performance in front of Skinny Beats Drum Shop, just off Biltmore Avenue on Eagle Street.
