What the blogosphere says about our win

From Draft Magazine: “Asheville, North Carolina pulled an upset. The small city defeated powerhouse Portland, Oregon and the rest of the country to earn Beer City USA 2010 in Charlie Papazian’s annual poll. The two tied 12 months ago. … While Asheville plans to celebrate the distinction by holding the first Beer City Festival on June 5, residents of Portland are up in arms. …”

From the Smoky Mountain Hiking Blog: “The results are in and Asheville is the new champ in the annual Beer City USA poll, edging out Portland, OR in the online polling that concluded last night. …”

My favorite, from Stumptown Magazine:

“Well nice job, losers. All of your furious clicking couldn’t stop stupid old Asheville, North Carolina from being voted Beer City USA for the second year in a row. We will just have to drown our sorrows in one of our MANY AMAZING CRAFT BEERS AT ONE OF OUR MANY AMAZING BREWERIES, you assholes.

We’d like to post a bunch of funny/mean comments from the Examiner’s original poll, but they’re all relatively nice, respectful of other beer cultures, and so on. So, whatever, you people should grow a pair. ASHEVILLE, YOU AND YOUR SIX BREWERIES CAN EAT ONE. PDX RULZ ASHEVILLE DROOLZ, etc.

Portland is probably way better than Asheville in like every possible way, right? Hey, what do we think the weather is like in Asheville right now? … “

A simple “Cheers!” from aworldofprogress.com.

Celebrate this evening at Barley’s Taproom, Pack’s Tavern, The Wedge and Dirty Jack’s, all boasting cheapie pints tonight FTW!

P.S. If we missed any, list them below, please.
