Before singer-songwriter and keyboardist Bruce Hornsby (pictured, lower right) topped charts in the 1980s with hits like “The Way It is” and “The Valley Road,” he was a session musician for the likes of Sheena Easton. Hornsby also performed with The Grateful Dead and put out solo work before forming his current band, The Noisemakers. That group comes to Pisgah Brewing Co. on Friday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m. Truth & Salvage Co. also performs. $35/$40/$65 VIP. pisgahbrewing.com. The show benefits MANNA FoodBank, which will receive a $1,000 donation from Luella’s BBQ as part of Pisgah’s partnership with local nonprofits. The gift money was solicited by Funding America Through Entertainment and serves as a challenge grant in hopes that the general public will match it leading up to the show.
