103.3 Asheville FM kicks off spring 2021 fund drive

Press release from 103.3 Asheville FM:

103.3 Asheville FM is kicking off its annual spring fund drive on Friday, March 26, 2021. The station has a goal of raising $30,000 during the week. As a non-profit, Asheville FM depends on listener support to fund its operations.  The two drives each year are crucial to raising the funds needed to keep the station on the air.

Raising money during a pandemic and economic crisis isn’t something the station would prefer to do.  So during the week, Asheville FM will be giving back to the community by providing food to children through BeLoved Asheville’s Comida De Esperanza project. “We are doing that with the help of our friend Rosetta Buan, owner of Rosetta’s Kitchen, and her new restaurant Water Street,” said Asheville FM General Manager KP Whaley.  For every donation Asheville FM receives, Rosetta will be donating to Beloved an amount equal to provide a prepared meal for a Latinx family hit hard during the pandemic.

“We are happy to use our platform to raise awareness of the urgent need to help people during this Pandemic,” said KP Whaley, General Manager of Asheville FM.  “While many of us are privileged to continue working, there are still a number of our community members in need.  We appreciate Rosetta’s for helping our non-profit during this difficult time while also helping BeLoved’s incredible work in the community at the same time.”

As many children currently suffer from food insecurity, the station is using the fund drive as an opportunity to meet their goal, while also helping the community.
