$19 per Hour and Beyond Job Fair

Mountain Area Workforce Development will be holding a $19 per Hour and Beyond Job Fair Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at the WNC Agricultural Center’s Virginia Boone Building, 761 Boylston Highway, Fletcher, NC 28732. The Virginia Boone Building is located across from the Asheville Regional Airport.  This job fair will feature over 70 local employers who are offering thousands of job opportunities paying $19 per hour and more. Employers are in a “talent war” to attract the best candidates and this job fair is an opportunity to highlight many of the best career opportunities in Western North Carolina.

Participating employers include AdventHealth Hendersonville, Anderson Automotive, Biltmore Company, Biltmore Farms LLC, Bolton Construction, Buncombe County Government, ConMet, Eaton, Elkamet, Epsilon, Flint Group, Givens Communities, Harrison Construction, Henderson County Government, Ingles Markets, Kyocera International, Linamar North Carolina, MB Haynes, Meritor, Mission Health, NC Department of Public Safety, NC State Veterans Home, Pardee UNC Health Care, Printpack Medical, Reich LLC, Southern Concrete Materials, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Transportation Security Administration, US Army, UPM Raflatac, and YMCA of Western North Carolina.

This job fair follows the successful “$17 per Hour and Beyond Job Fair” and “$18 per Hour and Beyond Job Fair” held in 2021 which both attracted over 300 job seekers. To increase awareness of good paying jobs in the region this job fair has raised the minimum threshold to $19 per hour and more.

To participate employers must offer at least one position paying $19 per hour or more. There is no cost for employers to participate. Lunch will not be provided but snacks and drinks will be offered to employers.

Most participating employers have many positions available paying $19 per hour or more. There is no cost for employers and job seekers to participate.
