2012 School Supply Drive: June 21 – July 27

Reminder from Asheville City Schools

Last year’s Back to School Supply Drive met the needs of 600 elementary and middle school students. Help us equip even more Asheville-Buncombe students with the supplies they’ll need to succeed! This year’s School Supply Drive will benefit low-income elementary and middle school students served by:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina
Buncombe County Schools Foundation: Fostering Connections
Buncombe County Schools Migrant Education Program
Children First/Communities in Schools of Buncombe County
Literacy Council of Buncombe County
Mountain Area Child and Family Center
The Salvation Army
YMCA: 21st Century Afterschool Program

You can make a difference! Help make going back to school a positive experience by purchasing and stocking a new backpack for a child. Not only are you eliminating a challenge for a low-income family, you are enabling a young student to start the school year on a more level playing field. Together we can help provide students in our community with the tools they’ll need to learn and succeed in school.
