From Asheville Citizen-Times: Elk have destroyed a pumpkin patch worth thousands of dollars and harassed cattle at a dairy farm. State wildlife managers responded by giving two farmers permits to shoot and kill elk on their land, the second and third ever issued. The farmers have yet to take that step.
