Brevard College hosts free financial aid workshops for Transylvania County students

From a Brevard College press release:

Brevard College hosts free financial aid workshops for Transylvania County students

The College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) will offer a free college financial aid workshop for Transylvania County students and their parents on January 8 at 6:00 pm in the Brevard College Porter Center.

How will you pay for college for your child or yourself? CFNC can help you figure it out! Laura Misner, a regional CFNC representative, will present a college financial aid workshop to all Transylvania County area students and parents on January 8. The session will cover applying to college, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), avoiding too much debt, finding scholarships and grants, saving for college, and more. Caron Surrett and Jeni Smith, financial aid administrators from Brevard College will also be available to answer questions.

On February 28, Brevard College will also host a FAFSA Day event sponsored by CFNC, the N.C. Association of Student  Financial Aid Administrators and State Employees’ Credit Union to assist families across the state with completing their FAFSA forms.

There is no cost to attend the workshops or any other CFNC services for families. CFNC was created to help North Carolinians plan, apply, and pay for college.  This comprehensive service provides information and resources at no cost to guide you through every step of the process and help you make smart decisions as you plan for your education and your future.

If you can’t attend the workshop or FAFSA Day, you can still learn everything you need to know about careers and college access by visiting CFNC.org or by calling 1-866-866-CFNC to talk with a CFNC representative.
