A-CT: Retiring UNCA chancellor may receive $241,000 perk upon exit

UNC Asheville Chancellor Anne Ponder is eligible to receive a year’s pay upon her retirement July 31, a perk that could amount to almost $241,000.

Ponder, who announced in January she was stepping down, told faculty in a recent meeting that she was promised the money when she was hired nine years ago. The chancellor at UNCA since 2005, Ponder makes $240,785 per year.
