AC-T: McCrory teacher plan will cost Buncombe County

Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times article:

Republican Gov. Pat McCrory’s plan to raise teacher pay will cost Buncombe County about half a million dollars a year, county officials said.

That’s because Buncombe employs 95 teachers on its own out of about about 1,600 in the county schools. Bringing those with less than 9 years experience up to $35,000 will cost $475,000 a year, said County Manager Wanda Greene.
