AC-T: Three rescued after night in cold and snow

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Saturday three men were rescued Friday morning after surviving a night of extreme cold and snow on the Appalachian Trail near Fontana Dam.

The North Carolina Helicopter and Aquatic Rescue Team airlifted the men out of the park. The three were taken to Mission Hospital, where two of them were treated and released. The third did not require treatment.
