AC-T: Two new charter schools approved for Buncombe County

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Friday that the North Carolina State Board of Education on Thursday gave final approval to 26 charter schools planning to open later this year, including two in Buncombe County.

The state approved plans for the Franklin School of Innovation, the county’s first charter high school, and INVEST Collegiate, which opened a charter school in Charlotte last year.
