Press release from Asheville Downtown Association:

Join the Asheville Board of Realtors, Roger McGuire Fund, City of Asheville, Urban3 and the Asheville Downtown Association will host a free “Curbside Chat” presentation and discussion with Chuck Marohn of Strong Towns. The event will take place at The Collider on Tuesday, May 16 from 5:30-7pm and is open to the public.

Chuck founded Strong Towns to help cities, towns and neighborhoods become financially resilient and develop a process that adapts to each community’s unique needs. He’s the author of Thoughts on Building Strong Towns and A World Class Transportation System, as well as the host of the Strong Towns Podcast. Get a glimpse of Chuck in action by viewing his TED Talk.

Join us for a presentation and discussion about the financial health of our places. For decades we have avoided a difficult truth: Our pattern of development—the very way we build our towns and neighborhoods—costs more to maintain than it generates in return. Our cities and states now face a financial crisis of tremendous proportions. We can cut spending and we can raise taxes, but we will not be on a path to sustained prosperity unless we are willing to reform our approach to growth.

This event is free, but please register by clicking here
