Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Education Conference: A Journey in Dementia Care
WHAT: The Caregiver Education Conference is an opportunity for caregivers of those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, to come together for a day of education, communication and support. This conference will feature interactive sessions, motivating speakers, and innovative ideas focusing on the many facets of Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving, research, life-enhancing activities and person-centered care. Everyone will leave more knowledgeable, motivated and better prepared to deal with this devastating disease.
WHO: The conference is open to both professional and family caregivers, as well as anyone wanting to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The cost is $25 for Professionals, and $10 for family caregivers. Cost includes lunch and admission to sessions. The Western NC Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will cover the cost for caregivers in financial need upon request.
WHY: The Alzheimer’s Association provides needed support, research and information for those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Currently over 5.4 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and 14 million people provide care for a loved one with the disease. The Caregiver Conference is a means to support and educate those caring for these individuals by providing new, innovative information and caregiving techniques.
