Amanda Schaaf opens ‘Dream Notes’ exhibition at Alchemy, May 11

Press release from Amanda Schaaf:

With a mindful awareness of nature and its calming influences, Dream Notes expresses the minimalist reveries of multimedia artist Amanda Schaaf within a space dedicated to healing. Amanda’s abstract mixed media and watercolor pieces integrate organic materials, such as mica, tree bark, and feathers found on local trails, among other found objects, as well as lokta, a Nepalese paper handmade from plant fibers. Captured with a beloved 35mm film camera, her photographs filter nature’s soothing colors and textures through her uniquely magical perception. The opening reception for Dream Notes will be held at Alchemy, 62 Clayton St., on Friday, May 11, 6 – 8 pm. The exhibition will be on display throughout May. Free to attend.
