Ambrose West listed for $2.7 million

Press release from Carla & Company:

Carla & Company of KW Commercial in Asheville have listed 312 Haywood Rd, Asheville NC 28806 for sale. The property is home to Ambrose West, a family owned and operated event space, concert hall and wedding venue. Opened in February 2018, the venue is known for its incredible sound, intimate shows and elegant architectural details. Due to the NC Governor’s mandate regarding precautions related to COVID-19, the venue was forced to temporarily close in March 2020.

The owners have made the difficult decision to close the business and list the property for sale. Everything was going well for the business until the COVID-19 pandemic. At the beginning of 2020 things were really looking up to be a profitable third year. The business has incredible reviews and 5-star ratings online, proving that it was a special place for enjoying live music, celebrations and events.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have enjoyed Asheville’s strong sense of community for the past few years and we are saddened to announce the difficult decision to close Ambrose West. The decision did not come quickly for us. Entering our third year, 2020 was going to be a breakout year for us only to be shut down right when it started. Considering the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic we reasoned for hours and hours on how to change the business model to accommodate the mandates. In the meantime, we had people and organizations utilize the space for free including Masks of Love, a charity making masks for anyone and everyone, and Bands2Fans who connected bands to fans via live stream. We also held a few very micro weddings. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to several local venues who have allowed our couples to hold their weddings while honoring their Ambrose deposit. A new business model has not presented itself so we send many thanks to everyone that helped Ambrose West grow and become a popular event and music destination for a brief but memorable time. “

The property is listed for sale at $2.7 million. The price includes all Ambrose West marketing, branding, sound system and other venue specific assets should the next owners decide to carry on the name of the venue.

Located in fast developing Beacham’s Curve of West Asheville, this completely turn-key property offers 2 contemporary and beautifully renovated buildings connected by a fully fenced, landscaped courtyard. This former church was lovingly remodeled in 2018 and boasts unique architectural details. Featuring high-end woodwork, custom interior and exterior lighting, sound insulation, stage area, multiple bars, 2 commercial kitchen spaces, wooden barrel ceiling with exposed beams, hardwood & polished concrete flooring, gas fireplace, professional lighting & sound equipment, multiple offices, and an outdoor deck. Zoned HR-2, mixed use is encouraged and a variety of commercial uses are allowed.
