APD hosts installation of Lt. Walt Robertson plaque on Oct. 4

Press release from the Asheville Police Department:

City Council and the public are invited to attend the the plaque installation in honor of Lt. Walt Robertson on Friday, Oct. 4, at 4:00 p.m. in front of the Asheville Police Department at 100 Court Plaza. The plaque is in memory of Walter “Walt” Robertson, who during his 28-year tenure at APD became the first African American to reach the rank of lieutenant. The ceremony will be followed by refreshments.
