The Asheville Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to gather additional information on a traffic fatality that occurred at approximately 5:12 p.m. on January 14 in the area of 125 New Leicester Highway. A vehicle attempting to make a left hand turn from Heritage Drive onto NC 63 (New Leicester Highway) was struck by a vehicle traveling north on NC 63. The driver of the vehicle attempting to make a left turn was transported to Mission Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She was identified as Kishiko Araya Adams (66), of Asheville.
If anyone has any information on this incident or was in the area during the time the crash occurred is encouraged to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050, if they wish to remain anonymous.
