APD seeking assistance to ID suspect who injured homeless woman with “airsoft” pellets

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

UPDATE (November 2, 2021): Suspects have been identified. Charges in the form of a petition for Assault Inflicting Serious Injury have been drawn on two juveniles. The matter has been referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

 

The Asheville Police Department is asking the public’s help to locate the assailant who seriously injured a homeless woman after shooting her in the face with multiple pellet rounds from an automatic “airsoft” gun.

Officers responded on October 19th at 1:41 am to Champion Credit Union located at 1000 Patton Avenue where they recovered a total of 50 pellet rounds from the side of the building where the homeless woman was sitting. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in the area.

The Asheville Police Department is asking for help in locating the assailant who at the time was driving a dark colored 2 door sedan.
