APD arrests robbery suspect

Full announcement from the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville – On March 3rd, 2014 at 6:09 PM the Asheville Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at 1321 Tunnel Rd. (One Stop Convenience Store #11). The clerk advised a white male with a mask and gloves attempted to rob the store. The suspect fled the store empty handed. At 6:21 PM, APD received another armed robbery call at 891 Tunnel Rd. (One Stop Convenience Store #19). The clerk advised a white male matching the same description, had robbed the store.

APD patrol units saturated the area and quickly located the suspect at Crockett Ave. and Tunnel Rd. in a black BMW. Jesse William Lemons IV, 27, of Asheville, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery of the One Stop #11 and robbery with a dangerous weapon for the One Stop #19 caper. No injuries were reported and all property taken during the robbery has been recovered.

Lemons is currently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under $500,000 bond.
