APD arrests suspect in West Asheville break-in

Full announcement from the Asheville Police Department:

ASHEVILLE – After an extensive investigation by Asheville Police Detectives; Officers have arrested Tasha Leigh Ashe, of Big Cove Rd. in Candler for the crimes associated with the Breaking and Entering that occurred on April 28, 2012 on Pennsylvania Ave., in West Asheville.

The West Asheville neighborhood of Allen St. and Pennsylvania Avenues had seen a recent spike in residential break-ins in the past month which initiated a massive effort on the part of Investigators and West District patrol officers to identify and locate the suspects in this matter.

At the time of her arrest, Ms. Ashe was found in possession of items from the victim’s home. She has since been charged with:

Felony Breaking and Entering
Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering
Felony Possession of Burglary Tools
Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods

Her bond on these charges is currently set at $5,000.00 dollars secure. Investigations on other break-ins in the area are still ongoing.
