APD continues search for stabbing suspect

Full announcement from the Asheville Police Department:

ASHEVILLE – On Sunday, 4/22/12, at approximately 6:45 am, Officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to a stabbing that was reported in Pisgah View Apartments. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim, Amilda Torres, who had suffered multiple stab wounds to her arms and torso. She was transported to Mission Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators were called to the scene and were able to determine that Mary Rachel Cole had stabbed Ms. Torres after a fight had broken out between the two. During the course of the fight, Ms. Cole produced a kitchen knife and stabbed Ms. Torres numerous times.

A warrant for Felony Assault with Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury was obtained for Ms. Cole’s arrest. Two separate search warrants were executed in an attempt to locate Ms. Cole, however at this time she still remains at large.
