APD puts crime prevention information online

From the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville – A new addition to the Asheville Police Department’s webpage allows the public direct access to many crime prevention topics. Due to an increase in property crime during the holidays, citizens can help protect themselves and their family by going online and download a guide on how to conduct a home inventory along with a home inventory book and a Microsoft Excel worksheet.

There is also a holiday season crime prevention brochure on how to make your holiday safer with tips on burglary and car break-in prevention.

Citizens can also obtain information on hate crime prevention which explains what a hate crime is and what citizens can do if they feel they are a victim of a hate crime.

This information is available through the police department’s website at http://www.ashevillenc.gov/Departments/Police.aspx
