APD trying to locate embezzlement suspect

Editorial note 1/28/2016: All of the criminal proceedings in this case were halted, the case was dismissed, and and the accusation was withdrawn on the grounds that the alleged embezzlement never took place and the legal action was the result of a misunderstanding. The proceedings have been expunged from criminal records. Consequently, by request, we have changed the name of the formerly accused to initials in order to protect the innocent while preserving the historic record.

From the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville – The Asheville Police Department are looking for Q.A.B., 38, of Barnardsville for two counts of embezzlement. Q.A.B. is accused of stealing over $100,000.00 from Staffing Consultants where he worked from January of 2011 until September of 2012.

Q.A.B. is described as a white male, 5’ 10” 220 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be on the east coast of North Carolina. Q.A.B. has family in Barnardsville.

If anyone knows the location of the suspect or has information to share regarding this incident, please call the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050 or send a tip via text message specifically to the Asheville PD by Texting “APDTIP plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES).
