Asheville a host site for Rooted in Wellness health fair, July 30

WHAT: North Carolina Black Alliance will host a statewide health fair with seven concurrent sites hosting fairs and will include attendees from faith-based communities and members from surrounding communities in the cities and regions where the health fair is located.

WHEN: Saturday, July 30 | 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: The event will take place at seven different locations

Asheville: Linwood Crump Shiloh Recreational Center (121 Shiloh Road, Asheville, NC, 28803)
Winston-Salem: Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church (1400 Fitch St, Winston-Salem, NC 27107)
Wadesboro: Tabernacle of the Congregation (89 Davidson Lane, Wadesboro, NC, 28170)
Salisbury: St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (410 Hawkinstown Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144)
Whitakers: Ray of Hope Christian Center (12120 Fisher Rd., Whitakers, NC 27891)
Chapel Hill: Binkley Baptist Church (1712 Willow Dr., Chapel Hill, NC 27514)
Pelham: Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church (9892 NC-700, Pelham, NC 27311)

WHY: Rooted in Wellness is an inaugural event that aims to bring communities of color closer to health-promoting resources by pairing health screenings with literature and education resources to promote community wellness. This event will allow communities to promote and practice Wellness throughout their communities moving forward.

NOTE: Media contacts are not required to register in advance but must sign in at the registration table upon arrival.

While we do not require masks, we are encouraging participants to wear masks indoors and outdoors, and we will provide at-home test kits for all attendees.
