Asheville City Board of Education Annual Retreat Postponed

Press Release from Asheville City Schools: 

As shared with staff and families, please know the Asheville City Board of
Education Annual Retreat slated to begin on Monday, April 26th at 8:00 AM has been postponed due to COVID-19 related protocols.

In accordance with guidelines set by Buncombe County Health and Human Services, one of our Board Members is currently quarantining after their spouse tested positive for COVID-19. The Annual Retreat will be rescheduled. Additional details will be shared once a new date has been finalized.

The Board of Education will continue to hold tomorrow’s scheduled Work Session, Closed Session and Regular Meeting. These meetings will take place virtually and begin at their scheduled time.

The Work Session will begin at 1:00 PM, and the Regular Meeting will begin at 4:00 PM.

The Work Session and Regular Meeting will take place over Zoom and be available for viewing live on Asheville City Schools’ YouTube Page.

To participate in Public Comment during the Regular Meeting, we invite students, staff, families and community members to sign up through our virtual Google Form sign-in sheet.

In order to ensure staff has time to share the Zoom link with those wishing to make a public comment, please complete this form by 3:00 PM on Monday, April 26th. If you sign up to make a public comment, the Zoom link will be shared with you tomorrow between 3:00 – 4:00 PM, prior to the start of the Regular Meeting.
