Asheville City Council will continue meeting in person at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, and Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville Banquet Hall, 87 Haywood St.
City Council will also hold an in-person work session beginning at 2:30 p.m. July 27 on the American Rescue Plan Act summary plan. Public comment is not taken at work sessions.
Both the meeting and the work session will be streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel, which can be accessed through the YouTube icon on the front page of the City’s website or through the City’s Virtual Engagement Hub, also accessible through the front page of the City website.
The agenda is posted at this link.
For our in-person meetings, anyone wishing to speak live at the meeting will be required to attend in person and is encouraged to sign up at the door.
To accommodate those who do not yet feel secure attending in person, or those who are precluded from attending because of schedules or other personal factors, City Council will continue to engage with those members of our community using the following options for participation:
  • Remote comments via email (AshevilleCityCouncilJuly272021@publicinput.com) or voicemail (855-925-2801, meeting code 8378) will continue to be accepted and reviewed by City Council prior to the meeting so long as they are received by 9 a.m. on July 27.
  • The meeting will be streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel, which can be accessed through the YouTube icon on the front page of the City’s website or through the City’s Virtual Engagement Hub, also accessible through the front page of the City website.
  • You may listen to the meeting via phone (855-925-2801, meeting code 8378).
  • Finally, the public can communicate with the Council by emailing them directly at any time – ashevillecouncil@ashevillenc.gov.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and virtual participation as we worked through new ways of engaging and communicating with each other during the pandemic.
