Asheville City Schools is excited to announce that we will be hosting our second
COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic this Saturday, June 12th from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. In
partnership with Buncombe County Health & Human Services, Buncombe County
Schools, and StarMed (a State mobile vaccine provider), the no-cost, walk up clinic will
be held at Asheville Middle School located at 211 South French Broad Avenue in
Downtown Asheville.The Johnson & Johnson vaccine as well as the first and second dose of the Pfizer
vaccine will be available.During Asheville City Schools’ May 22nd vaccine clinic, 172 community members
were vaccinated. If you received your first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on that date, please
know sufficient time will have elapsed, and you will be eligible to receive your second
dose during this Saturday’s clinic.With summer in full swing, Asheville City Schools wants to ensure that students,
families and community members have the option to get a vaccine. Regardless of
whether you have a school-aged child or are a valued member of our community, all
North Carolinians ages 12 and older are welcome to attend.The Day of the Vaccine Clinic:
● Please wear a face covering and practice proper social distancing.
● After parking, follow the signs to Asheville Middle School’s gym, and check-in
with the greeters.
● No ID or specific documents are needed when someone arrives to get a vaccine.
Instead, the person being vaccinated will receive a form to fill out that asks basic
questions, including their name, date of birth and health status. However, if you
have an insurance card, please bring it with you to the clinic.
● The staff will review your information to ensure that you are cleared for the
vaccine. A medical professional will review your health status if indicated.
● Once your health information has been reviewed, you will move to the
vaccination station for your vaccination. You will receive a second dose reminder
card if you’ve been inoculated with the first Pfizer vaccine.
● Please note that those who receive the vaccine will be required to stay at the clinic
for 15 – 30 minutes after being inoculated to monitor for any adverse reactions.No sign-up is required to attend the June 12th Vaccination Clinic at Asheville Middle
School.However, if you would like to offer support during the clinic, please sign-up through
these Hands On Asheville-Buncombe United Way’s Volunteer Center links, which have
opportunities both for medical and non-medical volunteers.Additionally, if you are unable to attend Saturday’s clinic at Asheville Middle School
but are over the age of 12 and looking for additional providers that offer the Pfizer
vaccine, go to MySpot.nc.gov and filter for “Pfizer.”You can also schedule an
appointment by visiting www.buncombeready.org or by calling the Ready Team at (828)
419-0095.
