Asheville City Schools to dismiss early Monday, Sept. 11

Announcement from Asheville City Schools:

ACS Operating on Early Dismissal

Our Transportation Department and district Safety Teams have been monitoring Hurricane Irma’s storm patterns.  Based on the weather forecast,  Asheville City Schools will be dismissing its students early today, Monday, September 11th.

Our elementary schools will be releasing students at 12:00 Noon.  Asheville Primary will also be releasing at 12:00 noon.

Middle and High School students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM.

Please take note that buses will be running their regular routes.

All after school activities, including tonight’s Board Meeting, have been canceled. Also, there will be no athletic games or practices this evening.

In the event of further changes, we will alert local media outlets, make another BlackBoard phone call as well as update the district website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
