Asheville Hot Chocolate Races return Jan. 26

Asheville Hot Chocolate Races

Press release from Kick It Event Management:

Now in its 12th year, the Asheville Hot Chocolate Races (Jan. 26, 2019) is one of the most beloved running events in Asheville and has consistently been voted a favorite by its participants.

Last year saw the addition of a 5k race and a sellout of both the 5k and 10k races. This year, the organizers will be changing the race courses so that the race caps can be raised to 600 and 700 respectively. We are excited to have all four of our presenting sponsors back and appreciate the ongoing support of Black Orthodontics, Mission Health, French Broad Chocolates and The828.com.

“Quickly becoming one of North Carolina’s most popular road races, the Hot Chocolate 10k in Asheville is a tasty midwinter treat for runners at a time when good races are few and far between.” – Running blogger, Richard Hefner

Something for everyone:

Not only are there two chipped times races for the serious runner, there are also two kid fun runs sponsored by Sparky’s Toys and Gifts: the Marshmallow Dash, for the littlest ones, and the 1k Hill Climb for kids ready to kick it up a notch. Kids events start with a yoga warm up at 8 a.m. and end with fun and games in the kids zone from 9-10:30 a.m.

Pre and post race DJ entertainment provided by Bright Lights Entertainment. Custom handcrafted mugs created by Salvaterra Pottery as well as gift certificates from Jus’ Running will be awarded to the top 3 overall, top masters and top grand-masters male and female for both races. Age group awards will be a Hot Chocolate logo mug.
