Asheville Police Department investigating shooting on 400 Block of Depot Street

Press release from Asheville Police Department: 

Asheville, NC (August 17, 2017): The Asheville Police Department is currently investigating a shooting on the 400 block of Depot Street. A vehicle containing multiple occupants fired at least four shots out of their vehicle. No injuries are reported at this time. The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time and no additional information is available.

As a precautionary measure Asheville Middle School was placed on a lock down due to the proximity to the incident. The lock down at the school lifted at 12:26 p.m. Depot Street has reopened to through traffic.
