Asheville Police need your help in a pedestrian fatality investigation

Asheville, NC (March 2, 2023):  Asheville Police Department Patrol Officers continue their investigation into a pedestrian fatality that occurred early Saturday morning and are asking for the public’s help with the identification of a pedestrian.

APD Patrol Officers responded to Interstate 240 West near Charlotte Street around 1:13 a.m. on Feb. 25. The preliminary investigation indicated a man walking in the travel lane of I-240 West when hit by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Halley Marie Page (03/22/1992) traveling west on I-240. The man succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Page was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Open Container.

    James was murdered, period.
    He is not on life support, be passed away, today.

    James Sheron was the victim in this incident. Hans Jacob Gruber is from a different incident. You should probably fix that….

    If the victim is houseless, Black, or Indigenous, probably not a priority for APD.
