Asheville Police request public assistance to identify armed robbery suspect

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

On Sunday, April 15, at approximately 3:55 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to the Hot Spot, located at 1069 Sweeten Creek Rd., after reports of an armed robbery. The suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm, demanding cash and cigars. He left the store, on foot, prior to officer arrival, with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a hooded jacket and a surgical mask.
