Asheville Wisdom Exchange hosts Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona Feb. 24

Asheville Wisdom Exchange is a new virtual Zoom platform featuring a variety of topics presented by nationally known and local speakers. Presentations are every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. with no registration or fee.

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, Asheville Wisdom Exchange (AWE) will host Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona, a distinguished Native American physician trained in family medicine, psychiatry, and clinical psychology. Dr. Mehl-Madrona has served on the faculties of several medical schools and synthesizes the healing wisdom of indigenous peoples into mainstream medicine. He is the author of Coyote Medicine, Coyote Healing, Coyote Wisdom, and Narrative Medicine, Healing the Mind through the Power of Story: the Promise of Narrative Psychiatry. His most recent book with Barbara Mainguy is Remapping Your Mind: the Neuroscience of Self-Transformation through Story.

Dr. Mehl-Madrona will be talking about the healing power of story and connection within the context of a new paradigm in modern medicine. Afterward participants will be able to ask questions.
