Asheville CEO seeks creative ideas for fundraising

Here’s the press release from Weaving Influence, a public relations company representing Bill Treasurer:

ASHEVILLE, NC— Area resident and bestselling author Bill Treasurer is on a mission. Treasurer, who was highlighted last week as WLOS’s “Person of the Week,” is on a mission to raise money for organizations that serve children with special needs.

The author, executive, and husband also wears the hat of father. One of his three children, Bina (age 10) has cerebral palsy and is deaf. Though Treasurer says he is blessed with healthcare coverage and funding for treatment for his daughter, he recognizes that many are not. He is read to change that but needs the community’s help.

So far through donating 100% of royalties from his latest book, Leaders Open Doors, the author has been able to donate over $5,000 to charity. Organization’s such as March of Dimes and Asheville’s own Irene Wortham Center have been early on beneficiaries of the generosity.

While Treasurer is pleased with the work done thus far, he is ready to grow the movement and seeks the community’s input and participation to propel forward with the mission.

He says, “We can do so much more. There are more than 54 million people with disabilities in the United States and many programs that serve them are severely underfunded. This directly impacts lives and well-being of children with special needs.”

Treasurer invites the community to share smart ideas that they would be involved in for fresh new fundraisers. “I am looking for unique, powerful, and fun ideas to help raise more money for special needs kids. Proceeds from Leaders Open Doors will continue to be donated but we need the community to share creative ideas, beyond typical silent auctions or 5k runs to take this movement to the next level,” says Treasurer.

The community is encouraged to email ideas, both big and small, to info@giantleapconsulting.com or share via Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/TakeGiantLeaps.

Bill Treasurer is the author of Leaders Open Doors, which focuses on how leaders create growth through opportunity. Bill is also the author of Courage Goes to Work, an international bestselling book that introduces the concept of courage-building. He is also the author of Courageous Leadership: A Program for Using Courage to Transform the Workplace, an off-the-shelf training toolkit that organizations can use to build workplace courage. Bill has led courage-building workshops for, among others, NASA, Accenture, CNN, PNC Bank, SPANX, Hugo Boss, Saks Fifth Avenue, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
