Asheville Tea Party responds to Huffington Post coverage of its ‘Machine Gun Social’

Jane Bilello, chair of the Asheville Tea Party, says she wrote the following message in response to the recent coverage of the group’s “Machine Gun Social” by the Huffington Post.

To answer some of the questions in this article: Jane Bilello was never contacted by the Huffington Post for a comment. And, we are serving water and soft drinks and pizza. This is family friendly and fire arms and alcohol never, ever mix, ever. Law abiding and responsible citizens know that. It also seems that some need a history review lesson on gun control. Just who is being controlled? There was a good reason why our Founding Fathers made our Second Amendment the cornerstone to protect our inalienable rights. A little recent history …

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

——————————

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

——————————

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

——————————

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

——————————

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

——————————

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

—————————–

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

With guns, we are ‘citizens;’ without them, we are ‘subjects’. You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law- abiding citizens

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN! SWITZERLAND’S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE EACH A RIFLE.

SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF

ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

The Founding Fathers on the Second Amendment

“I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”

George Mason – Co-author of the Second Amendment during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788:

Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”

George Washington – First President of the United States:

“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”

Richard Henry Lee – American Statesman, 1788:

Consider more recent events. If there had been armed citizens at the recent senseless massacres, the crazed lunatic may have gotten a few of the unfortunate victims, but not all. The police need time to get to a scene. In those precious minutes in travel, many needlesslessly die. If there were but a few armed citizens, the outcome would have been very different in every case. Think about that before you sip the cool aid the Progressives are serving.

And I thought I was ashamed of my NC roots before this ignorant redneck mess was instigated!

Now I know why the rest of America thinks Tarheels are nothing but mountain crackers without a brain cell in their backwoods, bigoted noggin!

Re: the Facebook comment about Jane Biello. If there is any evidence to support that, it should be revealed. If not, the person making that claim should be banned from this forum for life, IMHO.

There was a facebook comment that accused Jane Bilello of something really heinous which I won’t repeat. I’m glad to see it’s been removed.

It’s also notable to me that XPress can remove Facebook comments when they really want to…

Jane, if the U.S. government wants you “rounded up”, it will do so whether you own a gun or not. I can’t believe I have to point that out to an adult.
As for this quote,”During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!”, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“Jane Bilello was never contacted by the Huffington Post for a comment.”

“The Asheville Tea Party did not respond to a request for comment.”

Looks like somebody’s maybe not telling the truth.
