Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventures protests $500K grant to competitor

A $500,000 tax grant to a Buncombe County outdoor adventure company is the wrong way to use public funds, a competing business owner said, because it gives an unfair advantage and locks up money better spent on larger community needs.

Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventures owner Jeff Greiner on Monday criticized the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority’s decision to give hotel tax money to Navitat Canopy Adventures in Barnardsville.
