Attorney General Josh Stein will hold a press conference on law enforcement recruitment and retention in North Carolina on Wednesday, May 31, at the Western State Crime Lab. Attorney General Stein will be joined by Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand, North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Director Bill Hollingsed, Asheville Police Department Captain Brandon Moore, and other leaders to discuss solutions to the staffing and retention challenges that law enforcement agencies and sheriffs’ offices are dealing with throughout North Carolina, including in western North Carolina. Attorney General Stein will be sharing the strategies his office is championing to help end the officer shortage.
