Blue Ridge Community Health Services names Richard Hudspeth new chief medical officer

Dr. Richard Hudspet is Blue Ridge Community Health Services’ new chief medical officer.  He has been practicing in Henderson County as faculty in the MAHEC Hendersonville Family Practice Residency program at Hendersonville Family Health Center, as well as at the Henderson County Health Department and Pardee Hospital for nearly 10 years. Also, Dr. Hudspeth most recently served as the Medical Director for Community Care of Western North Carolina. Here’s the full release from BRCHS:

Blue Ridge Community Health Services welcomes new chief medical officer

(Hendersonville, NC) Blue Ridge Community Health Services (BRCHS) is pleased to announce that Richard Hudspeth, MD has joined BRCHS as our Chief Medical Officer.  His transition to that role began May 1 and he will assume full duties of the position on July 1.

Dr. Hudspeth brings a wealth of community health experience to BRCHS top medical leadership position.  He has been practicing in Henderson County as faculty in the MAHEC Hendersonville Family Practice Residency program at Hendersonville Family Health Center, as well as at the Henderson County Health Department and Pardee Hospital for nearly 10 years.  Dr. Hudspeth most recently served as the Medical Director for Community Care of Western North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his medical degree from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  He did an obstetrics fellowship at The University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he practiced in a community health center before returning to North Carolina.
