“Will the Chestnut Rise Again?”
Join Parkway Rangers at 10 am on Friday, September 13th for an easy to moderate,
2-mile round-trip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. We’ll explore the mighty chestnut tree, its once-critical role in the southern Appalachian Mountains, and research efforts to help it regain its throne as king of the forest.
Meet at the Mills River Overlook, Milepost 404.5. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.
