The one here in Asheville will be on January 7th. Make sure you have a ticket. And get there early. He will only be with us for an hour and then off to another event. I have tea and cookies and music lined up for entertainment before he gets there.

The swearing in ceremony for Rep. Tim Moffitt and Rep. Elect Nathan Ramsey will be held on Thursday, January 3rd at 5pm in the 5th Floor Courtroom by the Honorable Alan Thornberg, Senior Superior Court Judge. A reception will follow immediately thereafter in the foyer of the Courthouse. Everyone is invited and no tickets are needed for this grand event!

NC Constitution Article III Sec. 2 (1)
The Governor and Lieutenant Governor …… term of office shall be four years and shall commence on the first day of January next after their election and continue until their successors are elected and qualified.

NC Constitution Article II Sec. 9
The term of office of Senators and Representatives shall commence on the first day of January next after their election.

The 2013 official ceremonial swearing-in of the Governor, Lt. Gov. and Council of State will be on Saturday, January 12. See below.

January 5th, 2013 – Prayer Service

Governor-Elect Pat McCrory will attend a prayer service at 11am on January 5, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church, Raleigh. This is an open event.

Governor-Elect Pat McCrory will be sworn in 12 noon on January 5, 2013 in a private ceremony at the Old Senate Chambers in the NC Capitol. This event is by invitation only, but will be covered by statewide press pool. Look in your local area for broadcast details.

Governor-Elect Pat McCrory will attend the Inaugural Parade at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Downtown Raleigh, NC. Parade route will begin at intersection of Fayetteville and Davie Streets and will conclude at the intersection of Wilmington and Lane Streets. This is a open and free event.
