Brevard Music Center hosts First Mondays concert series

Press release from Brevard Music Center:

Brevard Music Center (BMC), in partnership with Brevard College, is pleased to announce the November program for its First Mondays series of free BMC Community Concerts in Brevard.

Monday, November 7 at 12:30 PM, BMC faculty member and clarinetist Steve Cohen will be joined by pianist Elizabeth Buccheri for BMC’s First Mondays concert – held at the Porter Center (Scott Concert Hall) on the Brevard College campus.

November’s program will include: Humoresque Bagatelles by Carl Nielsen, Fantasy on Saint-Saëns’s opera Samson and Delilah by Prosper Mimart, 3 Songs for Clarinet and Piano by Franz Schubert, Adelaide by Ludwig van Beethoven, Sure on This Shining Night and The Secrets of the Old by Samuel Barber, and Fantasia on Verdi’s La Traviata by Donato Loverglio.

The popular Brevard-based First Mondays recital series is presented at no cost to the general public – October through May (excluding January) – on the first Monday of each month at Brevard College. BMC’s series of free concerts in Asheville (Sundays with BMC) and Hendersonville (First Tuesdays) will resume in March through May of 2017.

“I am delighted that Brevard Music Center’s free Community Concert Series continues to grow in popularity each and every season,” said BMC President & CEO Mark Weinstein. “Now more than ever before, our community-at-large is indulging their passion for great classical music and musicians – year-round! Bring some friends and experience a memorable fall afternoon with BMC. We can’t wait to see you!”

Each First Mondays concert also features a local charity highlighting needs within the Brevard community; November’s charity is the United Way of Transylvania County. Details here.
