Brevard Library Book Sale

Full announcement from the Friends of the Transylvania County Library:

The Friends of the Transylvania County Library used book sale has thousands of used books available for sale ranging from best sellers, history, cook books, classic literature, biographies, to children’s books, crafts, religion and more. Audios and videos will be offered as well. The sale will take place in the Rogow room of the Transylvania County Library in Brevard.

The sale will start on Saturday, Oct 6 and run from noon to 5 PM. On Monday the hours will be from 9:30 to 7:30 PM. Tuesday and Wednesday the sale runs from 9:30 to 5 PM, Thursday 9:30 to 7:30. Friday hours will be 9:30 to 5 PM. Thursday and Friday all the books will be sold at half-price. On Saturday October 13, the sale will run from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM and on this Saturday only, all books, DVDs and CDs can be purchased for $5 per box.

A special, Friends of the Library member only reception and early sale will be held on Friday, Oct 5 from 5 to 7:30PM. In addition members only will be able to purchase books on Saturday Oct 6 from 9:30 until noon when the sale opens to the public. A person can become a member at the door for an annual fee of $10.

Cathy Gary, Book Sale Chairperson, commented “We have more books available than ever before, and a very broad selection. Plus we feel the extended hours will make the sale more convenient for everyone. For people with young children, please come early for the best selection of children’s books”

Anna Yount, Director of the Transylvania County Library, added “The programs supported by the Friends of Library are so very important to our community.” Some of the programs include story hours for children, the monthly Bag Lunch programs for adults, renowned public speakers, performances by students from the Brevard Music Center, the award-winning Teen Animation classes and more. This sale is one of the ways the Friends fund these educational programs. The other funds come from the ongoing sales at the Book Sale Room in the Library and membership dues.
