Buncombe County Courthouse hosts third Veterans Amnesty Day

Press Release from District Attorney, Buncombe County:

Buncombe County District Attorney Todd Williams and Superior Court Judge Marvin P. Pope announce the third Buncombe County Veterans Amnesty Day to be held Thursday, November 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The event will be held on the first floor of the old wing of the Buncombe County Courthouse. The purpose of the event is to provide veterans with an opportunity to reset court dates, remit unpaid fines, and resolve and/or reschedule minor, non-violent misdemeanor matters without fear of arrest.

To be eligible veterans should bring proof of discharge such as a DD214 form with them on November 10. The citation, infraction or other criminal process must have been issued from within the jurisdiction of Buncombe County. Matters originating outside the jurisdiction of Buncombe County are not eligible.
