Buncombe Democratic Party convention moved to digital April 25 event

Press release from Buncombe County Democratic Party:

The Executive Council of the North Carolina Democratic Party met to discuss the best possible solution for 2020 County and District conventions.

In light of the recent health crisis, the Executive Council has voted to postpone the dates of County and District conventions and to move all county conventions to virtual conventions.

-The County Convention scheduled for March 28, 2020 will now be held April 25, 2020
-District 11 Convention scheduled for April 25, 2020 will now be held May 16, 2020
-Each convention will be hosted on an NCDP-sponsored virtual platform useable on phone or computer. The platform will be tested in advance and the NCDP will offer training for all.
-Resolutions from each of your precincts will be automatically sent to District 11 for discussion at their convention, which is now scheduled for May 16.

We will:

-Convene virtually on April 25 at 10:00 am
-Be required to have a quorum to conduct business
-Vote on rules
-Vote on delegate nominations to District 11 and State conventionsIf you would like to be considered, please fill out this Google Form.
