Buncombe County Schools Foundation raffles a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible

Here’s the press release from the Buncombe County Schools Foundation:

The Buncombe County Schools Foundation is going to raffle off a completely restored, 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. The raffle began Sunday, April 22nd at the Asheville Tourists baseball game and is ongoing. Tickets are only $30 per ticket and only 1,965 tickets will be sold.

This beautiful Ford Mustang is the original Arcadia Blue color. The car has every option available to the purchaser in 1965. The options on the car include a 289 V8 (Rebuilt), automatic, AC, power brakes, power steering, chrome fog light kit, power convertible roof, chrome luggage rack, chrome spoke wheels and an upgraded stereo system with new speakers and satellite radio.

The drawing is planned for the first week of the 2012-2013 school year unless tickets are sold out at an earlier date. Tickets will be available at the Buncombe County Schools Central Office, several First Citizens Bank locations and online at www.bcsf.net.

Proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will go towards classroom grants supporting classroom technology, science, math, the humanities and the arts. Proceeds will also be used to support teacher development programs no longer funded by state or federal funds.

The mission of the Buncombe County Schools Foundation is to establish partnerships with local individuals, businesses, corporations, and other foundations for the purpose of supporting education in the Buncombe County School System. Today, the Foundation serves the six school district’s 25,000 plus students as well as approximately 4,000 employees of the Buncombe County School System.
