Buncombe County Young Republicans to host annual convention on Saturday

ASHEVILLE – The Buncombe County Young Republicans will host their annual convention this weekend in Biltmore Park where they will elect officers to head the group for the next year and choose delegates to attend this summer’s state Young Republican convention in Wilmington.

The convention will take place at Travinia Italian Restaurant in Biltmore Park on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. and will include a social hour in addition to convention business. All Buncombe County Republicans between ages 18 and 40 are invited to become members with a $1 annual dues payment. Anyone interested in knowing more about the group may attend for free but may not participate in convention business.

The convention will be the first the group has held since renewing their charter with the NC Federation of Young Republicans in May of last year.

Board positions of chairman, vice chairman, secretary and treasurer will be up for election.

Free food and beer will be provided. The social hour will last from 2 to 3 p.m. with the business session to follow.

The Buncombe County Young Republicans are a political group of Republican between ages 18 and 40 who engage in political activism, host monthly social events, and seek to enhance the Asheville area through community service.
