Buncombe GOP criticizes Keever’s first ad

Here’s the press release from the Buncombe County Republican Party:

Keever claims bipartisan support, can’t back it up: BCGOP comments on Keever’s first ad.

Asheville, NC – This week, the Keever for Congress campaign released their first ad: “Real People.” In the video, Rep. Patsy Keever claims to have the support of “real people” who describe Rep. Keever as “not partisan.” Yet, the “real people” in her ad happen to be political partisans who have, like Patsy, long been active in partisan Buncombe County politics.

The ad features cameos from several Asheville progressives, including State Representative Susan Fisher, Mayor Terry Bellamy’s former campaign manager, and other Buncombe County Democratic Party political insiders as well as an unknown Republican.

Representative Keever’s own partisan record, developed over her twenty year career in government, includes voting over twenty times to raise taxes in the State House and as a Buncombe County Commissioner. Her record exemplifies the ideological approach she takes to governing; proving who the real extremist is in the race to represent the 10th District.

Patsy should quit the charade she’s putting on for the 10th District’s more conservative voters and have the courage to run as she has governed, a liberal progressive who believes in higher taxes to pay for bigger government.

Well, the Republicans cannot claim their extremist candidate has any kind of bi-partisan support, or is that something only Democrats can be guilty of?
