Charles George VA Medical Center marks National Salute to Veteran Patients Week

Press release from Charles George VA Medical Center:

The Charles George VA Medical Center will mark National Salute to Veteran Patients Week (Feb. 10-16) by encouraging communities seek out opportunities to volunteer at their local VA facilities.

Every year during the week of Valentine’s Day, VA hospitals across the country observe “National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.” Each year, VA facilities nationwide feature many activities and special programs. Additionally, school children across the country will send Valentines greetings to hospitalized Veterans.

This uniquely VA holiday is a tribute and recognition to those Veterans whom we are pleased to serve in VA, and an opportunity to invite the community to join in service with us through volunteering and charitable giving.

Nationwide, over 75,000 volunteers provide more than 12 million volunteer hours serving Veterans. Volunteers are a priceless asset to the nation’s Veterans and to the department.
